Welcome to Count It All Joy Tutoring, LLC
Count It All Joy Tutoring provides elementary school (3rd through 6th grade) and early middle school (Pre-Algebra) students with extra support and enrichment in mathematics.
Count It All Joy Tutoring aims to do the following for each individual student:
Let me help your student improve throughout the year with individual and small group tutoring
I am a Virginia certified teacher who has taught math in public and private schools in the Washington DC area. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Howard University and Master's degree of Elementary Education from Marymount University. Currently, I am part of a Mathematics Instructional Leaders in Elementary Schools (MILES) math cohort.
I have 24 years of teaching experience working with elementary and middle school students (3rd - 8th grade) as well as extensive tutoring experience. I was a math specialist for 7 years, a middle school math teacher for 5 years, and worked as a math summer camp counselor for 9 years.
I enjoy bowling, watching movies, listening to music, playing trombone, exploring new places with my son, and doing DIY projects.
I am passionate about math education because I also struggled with math in school. I was able to build confidence through my work with a tutor, and I want to do the same for your child.
Count It All Joy Tutoring offers different services that may be tailored to your child's specific needs. Individual and small group tutoring is offered year round on a limited basis. Concept modulars are offered primarily during the summer months.
One-on-One Tutoring offers individualized attention that your child may not get in a regular classroom setting. Each session is based on the child's goals and needs.
Classic individual tutoring sessions are one hour, but they may be scheduled for longer depending on your child's needs.
Small Group Tutoring offers more individual attention to students while allowing for collaborative engagement with both the tutor and other students.
Small group tutoring sessions are one hour, but they may be scheduled for longer depending on the needs of the group.
A Concept Modular is small group tutoring with a focus on a specific topic such as basic multiplication facts, fractions, exponents, etc.
Concept modulars will run on a set schedule during the summer, but they can be run over Saturdays and Sundays during the school year.
Current modular topics include the basics of fractions, basic multiplication facts, and integers.
Contact me if you are interested in a specific modular or if you are interested in exploring other topics.
Detailed postings coming soon.
